Fast Phrases

 

Competent readers don't read word - by - word. We read meaningful groups of words together. A method of encouraging children to stop reading word-by-word is similar to sight word flash cards, however the cards contain phrases rather than individual words. Some examples of common phrases children should know include:

 

  • ...there is...
  • ...would you...
  • ...in the way...
